One element seen as an important contributor to achieving ITEN goals is
the enhancement of research capacity in regional collaborating centers.
ITEN Centers serve as counterparts to the overall program working to provide
local technical assistance throughout their respective regions.

In addition, ITEN also works with various global and regional networks
working on tobacco control. One collaboration is with The
Global Tobacco Control Research Network (GTRN) who's mission is to
enhance research by promoting collaboration and partnerships, providing
information, facilitating training, and sharing research tools with the
goal of reducing the burden of disease and death caused by tobacco.
